Show me your bunghole II

I got a nice little "Mooneyes" fuel cap and bung a couple years back, had plans to use it at some point...well in the last couple weeks I decided to go for it....hacked the old fuel bung outta my custom flatty tank, started to fabricate the mount for my Moon lid. The bung was just a stainless ring about 1.25" inside diameter, so I grabbed a heavy duty washer I found on the floor in the corner of my mancave that's about 1.75" O.D. and got a 1" hole in it. Made for a good mounting plate for the bung.

I welded the bung to the washer, did some finishing work with the grinder, then yesterday I braved the elements again, welded it to the tank....I find that when the mood to do shit like this hits, I don't question the risk, the practicality, the inevitable ugly result....the Lord hates a coward, and a combo of sidegrinder, JBweld, and rattlecan paint is capable of covering up some serious flaws.

So here it is sequentially. I still gotta sand and paint the area around bung.

Yeah I sure hope so, all my clutch parts came in, I'm gonna finish the tank off tonite hopefully.
Then wait for temps to climb to a balmy -10 by the weekend and we shall see!
