after a lengthy pause...................
the chief is getting some attention,,,,,had to figure out how to use this home made Harley pinion gear puller and use it on the indian,,so between a grinder, the lathe, and some fucking around the gear is off and the cases can come apart,,,,,,,ill split em tomorrow so I have an excuse not to nap which is hard not to do with my fucked up winter hours....
the void that holds 4 sets of caged rollers....
im getting hyped to finally move forward with this ill see how far I can get before it gets shelved again,,,,,,,,,,depends what life throws at me..............

little bit more after work today......
open for business.......
well just like the sprocket side race this, baby has the fingernail speed bumps where the rollers rode,,seems to me with the amount of meat on the races you could line hone em and go pretty big on the oversize rollers,,,depending how much to cean it up and if the rollers that big are easy to obtain..
heres the spocket side race..
they seen some moisture over many many moons....

Re: after a lengthy pause...................
put these fuckers on the centers to see what the fuck was up em,,,,,,,I was pretty anxious to see the numbers,,,,,,the curiousity was driving me mental......it ran pretty smooth, when running so,,,,how whacked out could it be........................
heh, heh, whackier than a shit house rat......heres some measurements......woo boy.......................
this is the pinion shaft..
sprocket shaft..
so after this thing is all tweeked up,,she should be a swiss watch,,,,or in all reality one fine tuned old briggs lawn muncher motor,,i just love the simplicity of side valves, they have draw backs but they will run,and run just like the black oil burning lawn mowers buried in the back shed
so ive been cleaning and going over the case surfaces with my favorite fine cut file....
I use this guitar pick to find any burrs or snaggers to draw out..
interesting holes in the wheels,,wonder if the salty air in nova scotia where this thing sat by the wood pile led to this.. or just sitting with moisture period! mixed with the oil was more likely..
