So follow that up with 400 grit to get rid of staining from paint thinner treatment, and roughs up pinstripe to age it as well

Did Carlos start a healthy diet Jan 1? I did then got sick 2 weeks later. Screw it going back to sugar and salt.

Tank work continued - antiquing Empty Finished tank

Post  sunnydog Mon Jan 25, 2016 11:47 am

Here's the finished tank, once again Hambone came thru with his great welding skills, he tigged a mooneyes bung into my tank so I could run my Moon Spinner gascap. Then last night I added a bit more pinstripe around the bung, and handpainted a couple touches on the underside as memorials to some rockstars I've enjoyed over the years...

That does have the vintage look.Especially with the Moon spinner.I wasn't aware that the caps were part of his parts creations. It is odd that I've never seen one til yours.
Just yesterday while researchin "vintage" water tank bungs on Google images, there they are.
Guess those memorial of influences were not in my musical appreciation since I don't recognize any of them.

Those are two good ones for sure.

Two more I like are I don't believe a word; and god was never on your side; cause I never believed in God anyway. Prob going to hell now for saying it lol.

Ain't no nice guy was another I liked and even on the radio once in awhile.
