Re: Koots and Dog
Your pics a little close for viewing. That's normal for a shovel nose cone.
It's part of the breathing system for the shovel.
Those plates come stock welded on.
Sometimes it'll come loose and you'll find it screwed back on.
Here's a pic comparing the bottom breathing shovel nosecone to the later top breathing evo one.
Don't think that I have any takeout lifters here.Replaced the hydraulics with solids many years ago.
Which are you running?
Did you drop a bearing or two outa the wheel?Be sure to look really good if so.There's a couple hard to see spots where those wee buggers can hide.

I'm pretty sure them tappets come in a couple different slightly over-sized sizes. Be careful what size you put back in. A caliper could probably measure accurate enough. Or can probably tell by how it feels when you slide it in the tappet. It's been awhile since I've worked on my old girl; forgetting how to do things.

The ones I have are OEM from 1982. Std size is .730 (although I just measured one and it was .7310 with both a digital caliper and a digital mic).
They come in oversize in 0.005 steps from 0.0735 through 0.0770
Tappet fit in guide spec is 0.001 - 0.002, you'll have to measure the guide bore. If .733 or more then hone to next oversize and you'll have to buy one.

Forge Blower is AWOL
No luck with the forge blower.Went lookin but the shed is fallin down and the blower is not where it should have been.Found the hood and pipein but that's it.Could have been scooped by an unknown or it's buried under roof debris.
In my town clothes so didn't go diggin in the rubble.Doesn't look good for it bein there.
