Desperato lookin for Loan of a part.
Upon further controlled analysis of my Tank slappin forks,I've found that the threaded end of the axle is bent.
I've got a new one ordered .It may or may not be in on the Sept. 13th.That's the same day as the Port Albernie Toy Run.I'm usually outa here early to get infront of the Rainbow Parade (as Carlos has so aptly mentioned).Doubtful I'll get the new axle in time.
So here's my plea:
Has any of you fellas got an extra FLH front axle that I could borry for abit.It doesn't have to be pretty just usable.
I will greatfully repay any expenses incurred to get it to me a.s.a.p.

Great Larry!
Here's a pic of the bent one w/ measurements.Hope it's clear enough.
The .870 fits into my chrome hub cover which is part of the spacing for the wheel.
The .748 measurement is where the Timpkin bearings ride.It may be worn.
The .666 fits through the left slider.
The .744 isn't that critical between the bearings as long as it is less than the bearing surface
You can send it COD on the Greyhound. Thanks Larry.

Re: Desperato lookin for Loan of a part.
Larry graciously went through his stash to find me an axle.Even offered the one out of his '79.However the mag wheel one was probably different than a spoked FLH one.He sent me one, that I thought would work, but after a frustrating day of tryin to get it in without the .035 bearin endplay resultin,I realized that it must be for an FX or at least a front wheel driven speedo model.
At the height of my frustration ,my indy Jack called with news that my parts were in.5 days earlier than expected.Rushed out and got them.Reset the inner spacer to the original configuration and VOILA!!!
I've got .005 endplay and no low speed wobble.
Enjoyable and relaxin to ride w/ no anticipation of that slapper occurin.
