Winter Projects
Here we go...
New pillion installed, I think the shape of this one fits pretty good with the wing, I'm gonna run it this way.
I ground/welded/gussetted the old tailpipe bracket, made it a lot stronger...here's how it looks remounted.
Mounts up the exhaust nice and solid again, just clears my new swingarm setup

Re: Winter Projects
On an unrelated front, I fixed my old Traynor amp up on Saturday, one new vacuum tube and she's grinding out the overdriven distortion again.

Nexxxxtttttt!!!!
So tonite I tackled my voltage regulator/toolbox conundrum.
Hammer gave me this awesome toolbox for the Shovel, to mount on front engine mounts. The problem: mounts in same spot already occupado by VR.
Solution: build a bracket to allow the two to co-exist in the same neighborhood.
First, some 1" x 1/8" stock, measure, cut and grind
Next, hotpaste
Then, a couple custom bends using framing hammer and vise

Re: Winter Projects
Then mount to same holes as original VR.
Mount up VR to the top bracket holes, 3.5" apart, run the wires through the bracket
And finally, mount the "Hammerbox", a device which acts as a front valence to provide downforce on the front end of the Shovel. This together with the wing on the back prevent the SHovel from its natural tendency to want to leave the earth and fly at speeds in excess of 50 mph.
